Jack Carr x Ball and Buck Waxed Dopp Kit

Regular price $68.00

Pickup currently unavailable at Inwood

The first bag packed and the last one out. A dopp kit lives a hard life — thrown in the bottom of a duffel, soaked on a bathroom counter at four in the morning, opened in a tent, a hotel, and a hangar in the same week. This one is built for that life.

12.29oz Signature Waxed Canvas and full-grain leather on the outside, a water-repellent membrane-backed polyester lining on the inside that sheds what spills, dries fast, and keeps working in humidity that ruins a cotton-lined kit. A #5 YKK brass zipper opens it wide enough to see everything at once. A webbing handle lets you pull it out of a packed bag with one hand.

Small, squared away, and sized to disappear into the duffel it was designed to travel with.

THE COLLABORATION

  • Jack Carr spent twenty years in Naval Special Warfare as a SEAL sniper, team leader and task unit commander before becoming the bestselling author behind James Reece and The Terminal List. Jack travels a lot both for work and recreation. When he told us his needs for luggage that were not met by other brands we pulled out the bar napkin and started drawing his dream bags up.

Ball and Buck Signature Canvas

When we set out to create the perfect canvas, we didn't start with a design board—we started with history. Deep in U.S. government archives, we discovered the military specifications for WWII field tents and made that our blueprint.

Our 12.29oz Signature Canvas packs 190 yarns per square inch compared to most fabrics' 120-140, creating a dense weave that naturally repels water and resists mildew. The result is extreme abrasion resistance that feels substantial in your hands but won't weigh you down in the field.

This isn't theoretical durability—our canvas has been tested in Arizona's cactus covered terrain, Montana timber, and flooded duck swamps, emerging more beautiful with each adventure.

Every product made with our Signature Canvas carries forward manufacturing excellence and represents everything we stand for: uncompromising quality, heritage, and gear that gets better with age.

Waxed Cotton: Heritage Protection

Waxed cotton emerged from 15th-century maritime traditions when sailors waterproofed canvas sails with oil and wax. This time-tested process impregnates tightly woven cotton with specialized wax, creating breathable yet water-resistant protection.

Unlike synthetics, waxed cotton improves with age, developing rich patina and enhanced weather resistance. Originally used by fishermen and adopted by British motorcycle culture, it offers natural breathability without synthetic discomfort.

The fabric's self-healing properties allow minor scratches to disappear with heat and friction. When protection wanes, simple reproofing restores full performance—making it truly sustainable.

Waxed cotton represents timeless functionality: a fabric that protects, ages gracefully, and tells your story.

a living chronicle of a life well-lived
